Believe it or not, it’s almost that time again!  Shrimp baiting season opens on Friday, September 12 , and we are all set to help you fill the freezer.  Our very own Gene Adams will be holding two shrimp baiting and cast net throwing seminars at the beginning of the season to help you get started: Tuesday, September 9 at 6:30 pm in our West Ashley store and Tuesday, September 16 at 6:30 pm in Mt. Pleasant.  Gene has been shrimping the Lowcountry water for years, and there is no one better to teach on the ins and outs of shrimp baiting.  If you can’t make it to one of the seminars, here is video demonstration of Gene throwing a cast net!

Both locations of The Charleston Angler will have all of the supplies you need for a successful shrimping trip:

• Cast nets by West Coast Nets, Ahi, and Betts
• Bait binder shrimp bait (just add water!)
• Glow-in-the-dark shrimping poles
• Reflective tape and light sticks
• Foul weather jackets and bibs
• Shrimper’s deck boots
• 12 volt light bulbs
